GM Ip Man emphasises the importance of lineage or skills succession in learning Ip Man Wing Chun.

All Ip Man wing chun teaching institutions must be able to prove the authenticacy of the Ip Man Wing Chun skills they learnt and taught. The next diagram shows the lineage of Tradisional Ip Man Wing Chun, led by Master Martin Kusuma.
